Synopsis Quattuor Evangeliorum (Greek Edition)

The Synopsis Quattuor Evangeliorum provides the complete corpus of relevant material in a convenient format for the exegesis of the Gospels, suitable for use in academic instruction and scholarly research. It includes the Greek text of the Novum Testamentum Graece (NA27), along with a critical apparatus that stands in the Nestle-Aland tradition without being identical to it. Introductory and other editorial material is given in both German and English.The Synopsis can be used apart from all theories of source criticism, since the text of each of the four Gospels has been reproduced in its entirety (the inclusion of the whole Gospel of John is unprecedented). For every section, however, all relevant passages of the other Gospels are given again in full; thus at every point the user can see the parallel material without having to go back and forth to refer to other passages in the Synopsis. What is more, all relevant passages from the rest of the New Testament are included, as are the most important parallels from the New Testament Apocrypha and the Church Fathers.Finally, an appendix contains the Gospel of Thomas in Coptic alongside German and English translations.
